Last week I decided to be brave and take my two girls to a tulip farm-by myself. I had been reading about this tulip festival online for a while and I was dying to check it out. Acres of flowers, a shaded picnic area, and an area for kids with a bounce house and other fun things. It was a long drive but we headed out early that morning for our adventure! My oldest loved it and really enjoyed seeing all of the flowers. She picked out the tulips she wanted and helped to put them in our basket. My youngest…well you can tell from the pictures how she felt about the farm. We didn’t stay very long-but long enough to get some cute pictures and to pick some beautiful tulips for our home!
I did some senior portraits for Alex last August-they were actually the first pictures I ever did for anyone!! But he wanted to add some pictures with his graduation gown & his future college gear, so last week we had another fun session. It was a lot of fun getting to see him play some ball & hear how excited he is for college. I’m so excited for Alex and what the future holds for him!
It’s been a LONG winter and even though it’s mid-April the weather is still pretty chilly. But this past weekend we had a few really beautiful days, so it was the perfect time to do this maternity session!! The backdrop is an old tobacco barn on my grandfather’s property, which worked perfectly for what Cody and Alex wanted. I love how these pictures turned out so much that it was hard to narrow them down! I am so excited for this super sweet couple and I can’t wait for them to welcome their baby girl next month!
Recently I decided to hold “super mini-sessions” at my house the week before Valentine’s Day. I was so excited to have the opportunity to take pictures of these adorable little ones! It was also nice to catch up with some friends and make new ones! Although I prefer taking pictures outside, my home has great lighting and I am excited for the opportunity to set up a small studio space for future opportunities like this one.
My family moved into a house about two months ago. We have more space and lots of light! We even have space for me to set up a studio, which is VERY exciting. I love taking pictures outside, but during the winter it’s often too cold to take young children outside for pictures. My studio is not set up yet, but I did a rush job and set up this backdrop and floor to capture some pictures of my girls (and then decided to advertise super mini-sessions). I’m super excited about the possibilities that this studio will provide for me. Also, aren’t my kids adorable?!
It is really hard for me to believe my baby is turning one year old tomorrow! The past year has flown by and while it was probably the hardest year of my life thus far (this sweet baby girl screamed 24/7 for her first 3 months), it’s also been the best year. Adalind is so sweet and loves to snuggle, but she’s also super feisty and independent. She was VERY excited when she saw her cake, but she wasn’t sure how she felt about the icing-because of that she really didn’t eat any of the cake! But at least she looked ADORABLE.
A few weeks ago I posted about doing pictures for a temple ceremony at the LDS Temple in Kensington, MD. I also photographed their wedding reception as well. It was close to Christmas, so the reception was decorated with Christmas trees and Christmas colors and everything was adorable! There was even a hot chocolate bar! Here are just a few of the more “artistic” pictures I took of the reception decor.
A few weeks ago I had the pleasure to photograph a small wedding at the beautiful LDS temple in Kensington, MD. It was a little bit cloudy out but was perfect for pictures! The temple is the most peaceful place and I really enjoyed walking around the beautiful grounds. This was the first wedding I’ve photographed and while it was more exhausting than I anticipated, I loved it! It’s such a special time for the bride, groom, and their families-and I love witnessing all the happiness!
The end of 2017 was a very busy time for my family and I’m a little behind updating my blog! My family moved into a new home, my sister got married and then we had the holidays! Now that the holidays are over things have started to settle down and it’s time to get serious! The day we took these photos was cold! But now looking back, it was definitely warm compared to the weather we’ve been having lately. I really love these pictures-they are some of my favorites!
